Internship description

How you can expect to spend your day:
The intern will be paired with two senior members of the business in order to learn
directly from the more experienced members of the team. In this role the intern will be shadowing 
team members to develop new skills and understanding of how a successful photography 
agency works an all the various parts that make it work.
Tasks you should expect to learn about and undertake include:
* Learn how set design is prepared for and managed for a client shoot and shadow the
 producers on these shoots to developer a deeper understanding of the whole process
* Learn how the agency prepare, organise and manage model castings
* Learn how the agency prepare the right stylists in line with client briefs
* Learn how the business admin side of a shoot works such as budgeting and raising invoices
* Learn how the agency organise, retouch and manage photograph, post shoot
* How to research new brands, clients, art directors and commissioners
* How to create newsletters on email campaign software such as Mail Chimp
* Attend client meetings to get great insight into how new business partnerships are developed and formed
* How client meeting follow ups and presentations are developed post meeting
* Learn how the social media channels are managed along with new blogs and website editions
The ideal intern's personality and qualifications:
The intern should have an interest in photography but not want to be a photographer, so under no account
apply for this internship if an aspiring photographer. Someone with lateral thinking, positive outlook and 
common sense. Someone able to multitask, a fast thinker, fast talker, someone who understands and 
has a sense of urgency, someone who can manage their own time and jumps into and gets on with the task in hand.
What is the last person who was in this role doing now?
The last intern who was an all rounder and worked incredibly well, is now senior producer.

Job Description:
Overview
Paperchase is the undisputed retail brand leader in design led and innovative stationery in the UK. We have been trading for over 30 years and now have more than 100 outlets in the UK and abroad. We are currently seeking an experienced Product Photographer to join our eCommerce team.
The successful applicant will have experience in a similar web based role, ideally gained within a fast paced retail or FMCG business.
Responsibilities
This role will be responsible for providing a comprehensive content management service, with key duties including:
  • Creating high resolution photographs to be used for the web and PR campaigns
  • Managing a constant throughput of products in an efficient manner
  • Using lighting and photography knowledge to ensure that our products (despite their tricky shape or size) look great and consistent.
  • Liaising with external suppliers and other photographers
  • Ensuring the organisation, tagging, safe keeping and return of all samples
  • Re-touching/colour correcting of images to ensure web ready.
  • Working to ensure that all images are shot to tight deadlines.
Skills and experience
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:
  • Knowledge and understanding of Adobe Photoshop and Bridge
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience of working within a studio environment
  • Experience of Microsoft Office packages

The Ships Photographer - Southampton
The Ship's Photographer is looking for experienced Photographers / Videographers and Photo Managers to work as part of our photo teams on board P&O Cruises and Cunard cruise lines. A good understanding of DSLRs is desirable, along with a proven track record in a retail / sales environment.
Our ships offer travel experiences all around the world in a fun, fast paced, five star photographic environment, working with like-minded professionals. Contracts range from two to eight months (depending on assignment), with the opportunity to gain professional BIPP accreditation while on board.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS
Photographer: Working as part of the photography team, you should be proactive, customer focused and always striving to improve. Duties include capturing and retailing professional quality images and associated products to enhance the holiday experience of our cruise passengers, while maximizing photo revenue opportunities.
Photo Manager: In addition to photographer requirements, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the photography department. Duties include maximizing photo gallery sales and profitability, scheduling, training and implementation of company policies and procedures. Manage / lead a staff of up to 15 photographers.
Minimum Requirements:
Diploma, A Level, HND, professional accreditation, BA(Hons), BSc(Hons) or equivalent in Photography
And / Or 1 year of industry experience (2 years for manager)
Fit & Healthy (emergency duty responsibilities)
Fluent in English (knowledge of German desirable)
If selected for an interview must be available to attend face to face in Southampton UK or Sydney Australia
For managers:
As above and evidence of managing a team of 5 or more people

These are just a few jobs I found that was of interest to me. I am still unsure on pursuing a career in photography. Even though it is something I love and will always enjoy I'm thinking about taking a break from it after uni or a year and then going back to it. But these would be the kind of jobs I would apply for.
