Its only in the past year or so I have found what kind of photography I really really enjoy. I like doing images on Body Image and The Media. I find these subjects really interesting especially when put together!
These are some questions I decided to ask myself about my style of work...
What media do you work with?
I prefer using digital, although I have used film a few times, I feel like I need to explore more with film in my free time as I do own a lot of film cameras.
What kind of work interests you?
Like I said above I really like working with people on the ideas of body image and how the media influences us.
Why do you work in this media?
I prefer to work with digital as I feel like I need more practice with film as I don't usually choose to work in that media.
Is there a relationship between the media and the ideas you work with?
Yes I think there is, as magazines, TV and online media is something I enjoy to include in my projects and they use digital media I feel like its appropriate for me to use the same media.
What Processes are involved in your work and how are they relevant to the ideas you are dealing with?
Firstly I research into things surrounding my ideas for a project, then I look at photographers work who link well with what I am trying to achieve in my own work.
Are there any outside influences and ideas perhaps from outside arts which have bearing on your work?
I tend to find influences from everything I see around me, mainly things I see online or documentaries I have watched on TV. Also books and magazines are a big influence towards my work.
My artist statement I put earlier on in the blog also explains the kind of photographer I am and have become.
This is a recent project I did and the kind of work I enjoy doing.
This project is my favourite I've done so far. I feel like the images I created were really strong and I got my point I across I was trying to make.
